I just made up the title.. 😀
Actually, it came from 2 movie titles that I saw in the past weekend.
Cast : Robert De Niro, Kate Beckinsale, Drew Barrymore, Sam Rockwell and more..
Storyline : Frank the Dad (Robert De Niro), reached out to his kids’ recent homes by traveling. He did this after all 4 of his kids bailed out on him on what supposed to be a family reunion back at his home. So he used almost all means of available transportation to get to where they are today. During traveling he found out about the secrets that all his kids have been hiding from him all this years. His kids used to stay in touch with their mother and told her about everything on the phone, but not to their dad. Then after their mom passed away, Frank was committed to find out about the truth in his kids’ life and the reasons behind their reluctancy to be open with him.
I heart Mr. De Niro a lot in this movie. He reminded me of the old man from Up 🙂 I got all teary watching this movie.. heheh 😀 Well, this is a family movie, who wouldn’t be? 😀
Early warning #1 : For those of you who love your family dearly and live far from your parents, you might gonna miss them after watching this. So be prepared with tissues or anything to wipe off those tears..hihihi 😛
Early warning #2 : For you girls who often blame your PMS period for being all mellow and sensitive *me too!! :P*, I think you better not watch this when your mood is not all bright and cheery.. 😀
Adam: You did a good job, so… I thought you deserved a balloon.
No Strings Attached, that’s the title. At the beginning of the movie, I thought that Adam (Ashton Kutcher) was just another jerk-type of guy.. I mean, okay the fact that his dad dated his ex girlfriend was beyond belief, but getting back at his dad by calling all girls in his cell’s contact in order to see who’s available to have sex with him was a lame move for me..hahahah 😛 But as the movie went along, Adam turned out to be the most normal person in the movie, at least for me 😀 And Emma (Natalie Portman) was just a really smart woman who’s so good at living on her own (as what her mom would refer her to be) and was pursuing her career as a doctor, was just twisted 😛 She was the one who originally came up with the idea that she and Adam should keep the relationship as not more than a f*ck buddies, with no strings attached, no lying, no jealousy, and no listing each other’s names as an emergency contact in any of their cellphones.
But then their relationship grew up to be..naah, just watch it.. 😛
I had fun watching this movie. I was laughing almost all the way through the movie. My favorite scenes were..
- When Emma stood up for Adam during a dinner out with Adam’s dad and his recent girlfriend *Emma..she just rocks!! Hahahah*.
- When Emma’s mom told her that it’s okay to get hurt, to not always hold everything back, to go all out and that’s okay for her family, they’re gonna be able to handle that *that was really sweet*.
- When Adam told Emma that it’s not okay to neglect someone’s feeling in the first place and stop contacting them but then to call that person out of the blue to tell them that you miss and need them but just not have the heart to be there in the first place.
I think the punchlines in this movie were really interesting, kinda one of a kind, unexpected and hilarious. Want some quoted spoilers?
Emma: Sometimes, my neck gets sore.
Emma: Because my brain is so big.
Eli (Adam’s guy friend): Ten years from now you’re gonna be having sex with your wife. And it’s gonna be in the missionary position. And one of you is going to be asleep.
Emma: You make my heart have premature ventricular contractions.
Emma: You make my heart skip a beat.
Okay, I gotta stop there. That’s all for my spoilers and reviews. Have a nice day peeps..Great Scott!!
